Made Scientific has acquired an 85,000-square-foot cell-therapy manufacturing facility in East Norriton, Pennsylvania, from National Resilience. The transaction closed Sept. 18, and Made Scientific said the site was operating at the time of the acquisition.
The facility includes eight Grade B/C cleanrooms, a Grade C ballroom, a Grade B fill-finish suite, quality-control and analytical-testing laboratories and 30,000 square feet of expansion space. The company said the site has completed 145 good manufacturing practice batches across autologous and allogeneic programs. Planned additions include 3D bioreactors with capacity up to 200 liters, automated fill-finish equipment, advanced cell-harvest systems and lyophilization capability.
Why it matters for laboratories
The acquisition adds qualified laboratory and manufacturing capacity at a time when late-stage cell-therapy programs require tighter coordination among process development, quality control, analytical testing and commercial production. An already operating site may shorten technology-transfer and qualification timelines compared with a new build. The release provides no acquisition price or independent capacity assessment, and future expansion and regulatory inspection milestones remain plans rather than completed outcomes.
