PRIVACY AT LABPRESS
Privacy Policy
This policy explains what LabPress collects, why we use it, when information may be disclosed, and the choices available to members and visitors.
Effective and last updated October 23, 2026
1. Scope and who we are
LabPress is a laboratory news, professional community, and marketplace publication operated as a LabLynx company. This policy applies to LabPress websites, newsletters, community features, vendor and product directories, reviews, events, forms, and related services that link to it. It does not govern a third-party website after you leave LabPress.
Important distinction: creating a LabPress membership does not, by itself, authorize LabPress to give your contact details to vendors for their independent marketing. Newsletter enrollment and partner communications use separate choices described below.
2. Information we collect
Information you provide
- Account and professional-profile information, including name, work email, organization, job title, specialties, membership type, password credentials, and profile details.
- Content you submit, including discussions, replies, reviews, ratings, event or job submissions, vendor claims, profile updates, inquiries, and correspondence.
- Buying-interest information you choose to provide through comparison, pricing, download, webinar, demonstration, or partner-offer forms.
- Newsletter, marketing, partner-sharing, and policy-consent records, including the date, source, policy version, and a privacy-protective hash of the signup IP address where used.
- Transaction and billing details when paid products or sponsorship services are offered. Payment card data may be processed directly by a payment provider rather than stored by LabPress.
Information collected automatically
We and our service providers may collect IP address, browser and device information, approximate location, referring URLs, pages viewed, searches, clicks, ad and email interactions, login activity, cookie identifiers, and similar usage or security information.
3. How we use information
- Provide accounts, community access, directories, reviews, newsletters, events, and requested services.
- Authenticate members, verify professional experience, moderate content, prevent fraud, protect security, and enforce our policies.
- Personalize coverage, recommendations, event information, and marketplace results.
- Respond to inquiries and fulfill requests for product information, demonstrations, downloads, webinars, or partner offers.
- Send service messages and, with the applicable choice or permission, newsletters and marketing communications.
- Analyze audience use, improve LabPress, measure campaigns, and produce aggregated reporting for advertisers and partners.
- Comply with law, protect rights and safety, and establish or defend legal claims.
Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we rely on performance of a contract, legitimate interests, compliance with law, or consent, depending on the activity. Consent may be withdrawn at any time without affecting processing already completed.
4. Newsletters and partner communications
The LabPress Brief
Newsletter enrollment is optional and separate from membership. We use a confirmation process where configured, include an unsubscribe method in marketing email, and retain service-related account communications even if you leave the newsletter.
Partner leads and sponsored offers
If you separately opt in to relevant partner communications, or submit a form that clearly identifies a vendor, sponsor, event organizer, or content partner, LabPress may disclose the professional contact details and interests identified in that notice so the named or described partner can respond or contact you. These details may include your name, work email, organization, job title, professional interests, and the offer or content you engaged with.
Partners receiving a lead act under their own privacy practices. You may withdraw a general partner preference in your member account and may opt out directly from a partner’s communications. A specific request that has already been transmitted cannot be recalled, although your preference will govern future LabPress disclosures.
5. When we disclose information
| Service providers | Hosting, email delivery, analytics, security, customer relationship management, payment, and other providers working for LabPress under contractual restrictions. |
|---|---|
| LabLynx and affiliated operations | Internal teams and commonly controlled entities supporting LabPress, subject to compatible use and security requirements. |
| Vendors, sponsors, and event or content partners | When you provide a separate partner preference or engage with a clearly disclosed lead-generating offer or request. |
| Advertisers and research partners | Aggregated or de-identified audience and campaign reporting that is not intended to identify an individual. |
| Legal, safety, and business transfers | When reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect users or the service, investigate abuse, or complete a merger, financing, reorganization, or sale subject to appropriate safeguards. |
LabPress may receive payment for providing buyer’s guide leads to the companies named in a separate download consent. Membership and newsletter enrollment alone do not authorize this disclosure. Some privacy laws define certain advertising or partner disclosures as a “sale” or “sharing” even when no money changes hands. Where those rules apply, LabPress will provide the required notice and opt-out rights.
6. Cookies, analytics, and advertising
LabPress may use essential cookies for accounts and security, preference cookies, analytics tools, and advertising or measurement technologies. Where required, nonessential technologies will be controlled through a consent tool. Browser settings may limit cookies, although doing so can affect site functions. LabPress will honor legally required opt-out preference signals when applicable.
7. Public and member content
Vendor profiles, product profiles, published reviews, bylines, badges, and other designated material may be public. Community areas may be limited to signed-in members, but members should not submit protected health information, confidential laboratory data, trade secrets, credentials, or material they lack authority to disclose. Registration information that is not intentionally placed in a profile is not displayed as public community content.
8. Retention and security
We retain information for as long as reasonably needed to provide the service, maintain accurate editorial and review records, meet contractual and legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, and enforce agreements. Retention periods vary by record type. We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards, but no system can guarantee absolute security.
9. Your choices and privacy rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Residents of covered U.S. states may also have rights to opt out of sale, sharing, targeted advertising, or certain profiling, and to appeal a denied request. We will not unlawfully discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right.
Members may update profile and communication preferences through their account. Other requests, including “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” requests where applicable, may be sent to support@labpress.net. We may need to verify identity and authority before completing a request.
10. Children and international visitors
LabPress is intended for laboratory professionals and is not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Information may be processed in the United States or other countries where providers operate. Where required, appropriate transfer safeguards will be used.
11. Changes and contact
We may update this policy as LabPress changes. Material changes will be identified by a revised date and, when appropriate, additional notice. Questions and privacy requests may be sent to support@labpress.net.
This operational policy should be reviewed by qualified counsel for the jurisdictions in which LabPress actively markets, sells, or shares lead information.
Buyer’s Guide Downloads and Partner Leads
Effective October 23, 2026. LabPress records member-linked guide views and downloads, source campaign, account email, professional details you supply, and dated consent records. For a PDF download, the form identifies each recipient company and asks you to actively agree to share the listed contact details and guide interest for relevant product emails. Members may read the complete guide online without consenting to partner marketing. Lead programs may compensate LabPress. We share only within the permission recorded for that guide; a changed recipient list requires a new choice. Newsletter enrollment remains separate.
You can withdraw future guide sharing in your member account or contact support@labpress.net. Recipients act under their own privacy practices; contact them to exercise rights concerning information they already hold. Staff access is restricted, and downloads use expiring links. Detailed activity is reviewed periodically and deleted when no longer needed for account, reporting, or campaign purposes. Consent, suppression, and delivery evidence may be retained as needed to demonstrate permissions, honor objections, meet contractual obligations, and resolve disputes. Applicable access, deletion, objection, and sale-related opt-out rights remain available.
