REVIEW INTEGRITY
Review Policy
LabPress reviews are designed to reflect authentic professional experience while keeping commercial participation separate from ratings and editorial judgment.
Effective and last updated September 3, 2026
1. Why this policy exists
Member reviews, editorial evaluations, sponsored content, and vendor profiles serve different purposes. This policy explains how LabPress collects and moderates member reviews. LabPress editorial ratings and buyer’s-guide analysis follow the separate Rating Methodology.
2. Reviewer eligibility
A reviewer must have genuine, relevant experience using, administering, buying, evaluating, implementing, supporting, or working directly with the product or vendor being reviewed. LabPress may request a work email, professional profile, screenshot, purchase or implementation context, or other evidence. Verification materials are used for moderation and are not normally published.
3. Conflicts and prohibited reviews
- Current employees, officers, owners, contractors, or agents may not review their own organization or products.
- Competitors and people acting on their behalf may not submit reviews intended to disadvantage another vendor.
- Reviewers must disclose material relationships, free products, gifts, compensation, or incentives connected to a review.
- Vendors may invite customers to submit honest reviews but may not selectively solicit only favorable customers, write reviews for customers, suppress negative reviews, or condition any benefit on sentiment, score, or wording.
- Duplicate, fabricated, AI-generated without genuine experience, coordinated, retaliatory, or otherwise manipulated submissions are prohibited.
4. Incentives
LabPress or a vendor may offer a nominal incentive for the time required to submit an honest review. An incentive may never depend on whether the review is positive, negative, or achieves a particular rating. Published incentivized reviews will be labeled. LabPress may cap, pause, or reject incentive campaigns that threaten review quality.
5. Moderation standards
Every review may be screened automatically and manually before publication. We look for first-hand context, sufficient detail, relevance, understandable language, conflicts, duplication, promotional content, personal attacks, unsupported accusations, confidential information, personal data, unsafe instructions, and signs of manipulation.
LabPress may correct obvious formatting, remove personal or confidential information, or request clarification without changing the reviewer’s substantive opinion. A review may be rejected, returned for revision, labeled, limited, or removed if it violates this policy or creates material legal, privacy, security, or integrity concerns.
6. Ratings and publication
Member ratings are calculated from eligible published member reviews under the method shown on the relevant page. Editorial scores, awards, and buyer’s-guide ratings are separate and are produced under the LabPress Rating Methodology. Sponsorship, advertising, profile verification, vendor membership, and payment do not increase a member rating or editorial score.
Publication timing may vary. LabPress does not guarantee that every submission will be published or remain published. Older reviews may be marked with their date, updated, archived, or weighted differently when the market or product has materially changed, provided the method is disclosed.
7. Vendor responses and disputes
Verified vendor representatives may submit a professional response, flag a factual or policy concern, or provide evidence that a reviewer is ineligible. Disagreement with criticism is not, by itself, grounds for removal. Vendors may not disclose reviewer personal information, threaten reviewers, or use the dispute process to suppress honest feedback.
LabPress may temporarily hold disputed content while investigating. Moderation decisions consider the review, available verification, the vendor’s evidence, conflicts, and this policy. Reviewers and vendors may request reconsideration through support@labpress.net.
8. Independence and enforcement
Commercial teams do not direct review moderation or editorial scoring. LabPress may investigate unusual review patterns, require renewed verification, label collection sources, suspend campaigns, remove affected reviews, restrict accounts, or disclose aggregate integrity actions when appropriate.
9. Policy changes and contact
We may update this policy as the review program develops or legal and platform standards change. Questions, challenges, and integrity reports may be sent to support@labpress.net.
