Labcorp to Acquire Myriad Prenatal Testing Business

Labcorp agreed to acquire Myriad Genetics’ prenatal testing business in a transaction expected to close in early 2027.

Press release summary

Labcorp agreed to acquire Myriad Genetics’ prenatal health testing business for $210 million in cash, plus the value of inventory at closing, the companies announced Oct. 20.

The transaction includes the Prequel noninvasive prenatal screening test, the Foresight carrier screen, the SneakPeek early fetal sex test and the FirstGene screen. Myriad said the portfolio was used by more than 600,000 patients during the past 12 months. Labcorp expects the acquisition to add about $160 million in revenue during its first year.

The companies said the business will be integrated with Labcorp’s women’s health testing portfolio, national patient service center network, data analytics and digital tools. They expect the deal to close in early 2027, subject to regulatory clearance and customary conditions. Until then, the announcement represents a pending transaction rather than a completed transfer of testing operations.

For clinical laboratory readers, the agreement matters because it could move several widely used reproductive-genetics assays into one of the largest national laboratory networks. That may affect ordering access, sample routing, billing and operational scale for prenatal screening. The companies said they plan to maintain uninterrupted patient access during the transition, but they did not detail future laboratory locations, test platforms or changes to provider workflows.
