Metrohm Launches IONIC Titrator for Standalone Lab Workflows

Metrohm has introduced the IONIC Titrator, a compact standalone platform for potentiometric and Karl Fischer titrations.

Press release summary

Metrohm introduced the IONIC Titrator on Oct. 1, describing it as a compact, standalone platform for potentiometric and Karl Fischer titrations. The instrument uses a 10-inch touchscreen and can store thousands of determinations locally. Depending on configuration, it supports as many as four burets, three measuring interfaces and two simultaneous titrations.

The system uses Metrohmโ€™s Dosino technology for dosing and can operate without a separate computer. Connectivity options include LAN and Wi-Fi, as well as a mobile-data module designed to transfer information to the Metrohm Data Service cloud. The company says the platform is intended to combine routine titration work with a smaller footprint and simplified operation.

Why it matters for laboratories

Quality-control and analytical laboratories often need to balance bench space, throughput, traceability and operator training. A standalone system that covers both potentiometric and Karl Fischer methods could consolidate routine workflows, while parallel titration and multiple dosing channels may increase flexibility. Laboratories evaluating the platform should still confirm method compatibility, data-integrity controls, service availability and regional connectivity options, and validate performance for their own matrices and procedures.
